ABOUT
Docent is a subscription-based, limited-service hotel management company that focuses on people and operations. We utilize a unique business operating model that combines elements of behavioral science, organizational psychology and lean six sigma to deliver an efficient and effective solution for managing owner operator-led hotels.
After 13 years in the hospitality industry, most recently managing a portfolio of limited-service Marriott hotels in the Bay Area of California, and an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Babson College, Docent founder Erik Robertson has built a management company that is the first of its kind: A lean, focused management service that adapts to each property’s needs.
Why the name Docent?
By definition a docent is a guide, traditionally in museum or art gallery. We chose the name Docent because our business model is that of management guidance. We will walk the path of learning, professional growth and operational excellence with you; For as little, or as long, as you would like. We don’t consult. We teach. We don’t manage. We guide. As the old saying goes, we teach your people how to fish.
